Privacy Policy
Last updated June 23, 2026
Quizzly (“we,” “us”) is a study app built for students. We believe privacy is part of a good product, so we collect only what we need to run your account and keep the experience safe. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account — your email address and the username you choose.
- Your content — the study sets, flashcards, and questions you create or import.
- Progress & activity — study results, quiz scores, streaks, spaced-repetition history, Sparks, and items you unlock, so the app can track your learning and rewards.
- Usage & device data — basic, privacy-preserving analytics (which features are used, and errors) to keep the app working.
- Payments — if you subscribe to Apex, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, never your full card number, which stays with Stripe.
How we use it
- Run your account and sync your study progress across devices.
- Generate study sets with AI when you ask us to.
- Process subscriptions and prevent abuse or cheating in our games and economy.
- Send essential account emails (sign-in, password reset, receipts).
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data.
- We don’t show third-party ads.
- We don’t allow stranger-to-stranger contact. Guests who join a live game by code share only a nickname — no account, no personal info.
Service providers
We share data only with vendors that help us run Quizzly, each under their own privacy and security terms:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Stripe — subscription payments.
- Resend — sending account emails.
- AI providers (Anthropic, Google) — when you use AI set generation, the topic or text you submit is sent to create your set. It isn’t used to advertise to you.
Students & younger users
Quizzly is intended for users age 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it. Schools and parents with questions about student data can reach us any time.
Your choices & rights
- Access or correct your information from your profile and settings.
- Delete your account and associated data — contact us and we’ll remove it.
- Request a copy of your data.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA. We honor those requests.
Data retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted with row-level security so you can only see your own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you of significant incidents as required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Quizzly grows. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
